On April 24th, two key people associated with Children’s received significant honors from the Pi Beta Phi sorority who I would like to personally congratulate.

Nancy Clements Seay

Both the Dallas Chapter of the Pi Beta Phi Alumnae association and the National organization selected Nancy Clements Seay to receive the prestigious Carolyn Helman Lichtenberg Crest Award, the organization’s highest honor. Mrs. Seay, the daughter of the late Gov. William P. Clements, Jr. and the late Pauline Allen Gill Sullivan, serves as president of the Pauline Allen Gill Foundation, which made a $10m gift to renovate and endow the Center for Cancer and Blood Disorders at Children’s Medical Center, which is now named the Pauline Allen Gill Center for Cancer and Blood Disorders.

Cyndi Burris Bassel

The Dallas Chapter also selected Cyndi Burris Bassel for the Community Service Award, which recognizes the most outstanding community service in any field in the Dallas area by an alumna.  Cyndi is the Senior Vice President of Children’s Medical Center Foundation and the Vice President for Development of Children’s Health System of Texas.  The award recognizes her volunteer service for a variety of organizations within the community, outside of her role at Children’s.
